The One with the Meetings
Hi everyone! It’s time for another update from the PUC Tanzania 2015 team about our last few weeks in Texas preparing for our journey to Tanzania.
On Monday, a few of our team members and our traveling technical advisor, Mary Lou, had a very productive Skype call with our NGO coordinator, Mohamed. We were able to clarify a few things to help keep us on the right track to getting everything done before the rainy season starts.
On Wednesday, some of our technical team was able to meet with our structural technical advisor, Ken Hanks. In this meeting we started our design for the foundation slab. The foundation slab will be the last thing built for us before we arrive this May.
This week our team also put out a Facebook page (which you can see here: https://www.facebook.com/PUC2015Tanzania ) so that we can continue spreading the word about our crowd-funding efforts. Speaking of which, we are happy to announce that, as of this post, we have currently raised $7,745! I would also like to give a very special thank you to one donor in particular, David Hemingson, who donating an amazing $5,000 to our project! We currently have 12 days left on this countdown and if you would like to help us reach our goal, you can donate at the link here: https://hornraiser.utexas.edu/project/54e7891a092065499d8db4c5!
We look forward to the next steps in our project that we will accomplish in the coming week and are excited to share with you all that we accomplish!
