Today was a hard day, rafikis.

Today, we tried to plaster.

Needless to say, it was pretty much the hardest thing we've done so far in this project. Laying bricks? Sure. Digging Trenches? No problem.

BUT PLASTERING? Plastering was difficult.

First of all, we had no idea where to begin. Plastering comes in three phases:

Phase I: Slapping on as much mortar as possible until the wall is completely covered.

Phase II: Leveling with a long piece of wood and filling in any holes.

Phase III: Spraying water on it and finishing the wall to perfection.

*Extra Phase IV*: Contractor removes everything we did and does it to perfection 10x faster

The contractors were pretty much pros at all of this, and we couldn't even consider ourselves amateurs. BUT, the experience was definitely rewarding. We're expecting to do it for two more days, so yay!

In other news, we received a special guest at the site today in the form of the member of Parliament from Tanga we met earlier. He came to visit our site today, as promised, and we gave him a tour of the building, septic tank, and soakage pits! We also had a great discussion with him about potential PUC projects in Tanzania as well as getting more involvement from the local community and corporations here.

Last, but definitely not least, we got on TV! Stay tuned for our interview on ITV at 8PM! We're going to be east African movie stars, y'all!

Lala Salama!
